We cap output at 1024 universes to keep DMXDesktop's memory footprint small and efficient on your machine, which is already far beyond what even the most expensive lighting consoles can drive. If you are the rare exception and genuinely need more, just reach out and we will happily raise the limit for you. Universe numbers above 64 can also be used, so you can match the numbering your rig or venue already uses. See the FAQ below.
‖ Remote control: the mobile remote, OSC and the Elgato Stream Deck plugin work on every plan, and most controls are not restricted. Individual actions follow your plan: DJ deck, playlist and track control needs Standard or Pro, and console cue stacks and cue faders need Pro. Effect stacks are not restricted.
¶ Scheduler: unattended, time-based control is a Pro feature. The Scheduler tab is visible on Free and Standard so you can see what it does and what it needs, but schedules only run on Pro.

Can I try before I buy?

Is Pro really unlimited universes?
Yes. The Pro plan has no fixed universe limit. We cap output at 1024 universes to keep DMXDesktop's memory footprint small and efficient on your machine, which is already far beyond what even the most expensive lighting consoles can drive, and in practice no show ever comes close. If you are the rare exception and genuinely need more, just reach out and we will happily raise the limit for you.
What's the difference between subscription and lifetime?
Subscriptions give you access to all updates and features for as long as you're subscribed. Version Lifetime licenses are a one-time purchase that covers all updates within the current major version (e.g., v1.x).
What does 'Version Lifetime License' mean exactly?
A Version Lifetime License grants you perpetual access to the current major version of DMXDesktop (e.g., all v1.x releases). When a new major version is released (e.g., v2.0), a separate license may be required. This is clearly outlined in our Terms & Conditions. We believe in transparency-no hidden surprises.
Can I change my plan?
Yes! To switch plans, simply cancel your current subscription and purchase a new one when it expires. For example, if you have a monthly plan and want lifetime, cancel your subscription and it will remain active until the end of your billing period. Once it expires, you can purchase your new plan.
Do you offer refunds?
We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee on all paid plans. If you're not satisfied, contact us for a full refund.
What payment methods do you accept?
We use Stripe to process payments securely. Available payment methods (credit/debit cards, PayPal, Klarna, and others) vary depending on your location. Check the checkout page in the DMXDesktop app to see the options available in your region.
Is Live Wire included in my plan?
Live Wire is included with Standard and Pro at no extra charge. It is not part of the Free plan. See the Live Wire page for what it does.
What happens when I cancel?
On a paid subscription, you choose between cancelling straight away and cancelling at the end of your current billing period. Cancel at period end and you keep full access until that date, then your account moves to the Free plan. A free trial is different. Cancelling during a trial ends it immediately: you lose access straight away, you do not keep the remaining trial days, you will not be eligible for another free trial, and your account moves to the Free plan at once. If you only want to avoid being charged, cancel before the trial ends rather than as soon as it starts.
Which features are limited when I control DMXDesktop remotely?
The remote, OSC and the Stream Deck plugin themselves are not restricted, and neither are the general live controls or effect stacks. Two areas follow your plan: DJ deck, playlist and track control needs Standard or Pro, and console cue stacks and cue faders, which belong to the Programmer, need Pro. If an action is not covered by your plan the app tells you rather than failing silently.
