# General Settings

## OSC - Open Sound Control

Configure the Open Sound Control (OSC) server to enable external control of DMXDesktop.

**Interface:** Select the network interface/IP address to listen on.

**Port:** Set the listening port (default: 8000).

**Protocol:** Choose between UDP (default) or TCP.

Click **Enable** to activate the OSC server, then **Save** to apply your settings.

*Note: If you enable Ableton Link, OS2L or Live Audio Input, and send simultaneous BPM Commands to OSC there may be conflicts.*

*This is a Subscriber only feature.*

## Mobile Control

Enable the HTTP Server to allow Mobile Control. This lets you control DMXDesktop remotely from your mobile or tablet device.

When enabled, the status will show as **Active** with a link to access the mobile control interface (e.g., dmxdesktop.local:80).

Click **Show all addresses** to see all available network addresses you can use to connect.

**Please note you must be on the same local network for this to work.**

For more details see: Mobile Control

*Shortcut: Ctrl + '+'/'-' to zoom, Ctrl + '0' to reset.*

## Security & Diagnostics

**Lockscreen Password:** Set a password to lock the screen. This is useful if you need to leave your machine running in a public location but do not want anyone to interfere with the running software. Lock the screen by pressing **Ctrl+L** or clicking the Lock icon in the toolbar.

*Note: Passwords are case sensitive.*

**CAUTION - If you forget the password you will lock yourself out!**

**Send Diagnostics:** If you have been asked to submit diagnostics to DMXDesktop support, you can do so here by clicking **Submit Diagnostics**.

*Note: All diagnostic data is automatically deleted after 30 days.*
