Colors & Color Themes

You can view the built in colors and color themes via the Colors tab in the console.

These themes are the palette library used by effects everywhere. To map them to music genres in DJ Mode, and to set energy, strobe, variety and timings per genre, see DJ Mode: Per-Genre Settings.

Color Override

New in v1.0.52

A Color Override repaints your rig from this same palette library while a look keeps running: the movement carries on, only the colours change.

  • It now works with Live Wire, where it previously did nothing at all. Strobes, blinders and kick flashes deliberately stay white, as they are accents rather than the main look.
  • An override holds until you clear it, and clearing it restores the colours recorded underneath.
  • Multi-colour themes are spread across your fixtures properly, and are no longer refused while Live Wire is running.
  • The override buttons survive changing page, so an override that is still driving the rig no longer looks as though it has been released.

Colour wheel fixtures

New in v1.0.52

Two long-standing faults on fixtures whose colour comes from a wheel rather than from emitters:

  • Colour presets now work. Clicking any swatch on a wheel-based fixture gave you red whatever you clicked, and the colour canvas did nothing at all. It had been that way since April, and the constant answer of red is largely why nobody spotted it. Fixtures with real emitters, and fixtures with both, are unchanged.
  • Colour wheel movers no longer flash white on a solid colour cue. On the dark frames of an effect the wheel used to fall back to slot 0, which on many fixtures is white, and the motor set off towards it. The wheel now holds its colour through dark frames, on every effect.
