DMX Desktop has literally saved days of work - create the profile if the fixture isn't in the library and just let DMX Desktop 'do its thing'. I usually use BPM detection from Virtual DJ (running from a separate machine) and primarily use the Quick Show function, as I can turn lights on and off on the fly and change sequences, colours and effects quickly. It's a lightweight piece of software which means I can also run OBS Studio (fairly CPU intensive) on the same machine for all the live streaming aspects (primarily the type of events we run). For a low monthly cost (or a one-off payment) it's an impressively powerful piece of software backed up by an incredibly helpful support team.
