Our Commitment
DMXDesktop is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We continually improve the user experience for everyone and apply the relevant accessibility standards to our website.
Conformance Standards
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities. Conformance with these guidelines helps make the web more user-friendly for everyone.
- Perceivable - Information and user interface components must be presentable to users in ways they can perceive
- Operable - User interface components and navigation must be operable
- Understandable - Information and the operation of user interface must be understandable
- Robust - Content must be robust enough that it can be interpreted by a wide variety of user agents, including assistive technologies
Website Accessibility Features
We have taken the following measures to ensure accessibility of our website:
- Sufficient color contrast ratios for text readability (WCAG 2.1 AA compliant)
- Keyboard navigation support throughout the site
- Semantic HTML structure for screen reader compatibility
- Alt text for meaningful images
- Clear and consistent navigation
- Responsive design for various devices and screen sizes
- Skip navigation links for keyboard users
DMXDesktop Software Considerations
DMXDesktop is professional lighting control software designed for creating visual lighting displays. By its very nature, the software is inherently visual and is designed for users who can perceive and evaluate lighting effects, colors, and movements.
While we strive to make the software interface as accessible as possible (including keyboard shortcuts and clear labeling), the core functionality of designing and controlling lighting displays requires visual perception. This is a fundamental characteristic of lighting control software and not a limitation we can fully address while maintaining the software's primary purpose.
Known Limitations
Despite our best efforts, some areas may not be fully accessible:
- Some third-party embedded content (such as videos) may not be fully accessible
- Older PDF documents may not be fully accessible to screen readers
- The DMXDesktop application itself requires visual perception to effectively design and control lighting
