Ableton Link Integration

DMXDesktop seamlessly integrates with Ableton Link, a technology developed by Ableton that synchronizes musical beat, tempo, and phase across multiple applications and devices over a local network. This integration allows for effortless synchronization between your lighting effects and music, enhancing live performances and creative sessions.

DMXDesktop never sends Link messages out and will never change the BPM of your session, you can rest assured that we have made great strides to ensure our integration is as seamless as possible whilst giving you the power to time your lights to whatever supported app you integrate.

Once enabled, you can see a log of messages coming into the system so you can be sure your integration is active and your receiving the correct BPM data from your session.

Running the rig at half or double time is one setting, shared by the desk, MIDI pads, OSC and the mobile remote, so they cannot disagree about the speed the rig is running at. On a controller the three pads behave as one group with exactly one lit at a time, and Normal Tempo never blinks. The three bindings now have their own Tempo Control card in Settings → MIDI, rather than sitting in the middle of the Global Controls grid looking like three independent switches.

On a SoundSwitch Control One, the OLED screen shows Ableton Link status alongside the rest of the desk's live status.
